The coastline of the city is quite long, covered with yellow sand. The entrance to the ocean is gentle and everyone can find a place to lie down on a towel or lounge chair. Here grow tropical palms and the whole coast is buried in verdure. The beach is conventionally divided into two parts: the quiet north and the lively tourist south. There used to be canals through which sold spices to European countries, so the presence of the Dutch and the British can be felt here and can be seen in the architecture of some buildings.
